Gwinnett Medical Building

(Medical Facility Photography) – This property was a lot of fun to photograph, especially the lobby and reception areas. Like all of the other medical properties that I have photographed I had to move a bit more quickly in some areas than I would have liked to, but getting in the way of any patients or staff is definitely not an option!  Getting the opportunity to photograph a building that is of some architectural interest is such a treat. There was so much to work with, so many good angles.

Conference Room (obviously). One of the accent lights in the background wasn’t working so I had to use Photoshop to turn it back on. I’ll do a separate blog post later on showing some of the editing that I do for these photos.

I edited a lot of distracting stuff out of the lobby for the sake of tidying up this shot! I was lucky that by the time I was photographing this area the building was getting ready to close for the day and the line of people that had been in the lobby when I arrived had dissipated.

Photographing Medical Facilities – Part II

And here is the “Part II” post! I got to do some slightly more architectural photography at these properties, which I really enjoyed.  Here is “Part I” in case you missed it.

I so wish I had had more time for this shot. I felt so rushed having somebody standing behind me waiting for me get the photos that I needed. If I had had more time I would have put a polarizing filter on my lens to reduce/remove the reflections in the window! I have removed quite a few of the reflections in Photoshop but some of them are still quite visible…

This is the building in which the three above shots were taken.

A walkway connecting two buildings on this medical campus.

This is the atrium of the above building. I photographed it from several angles.

Photographing Medical Facilities – Part I

Back in late spring a client asked me to photograph several medical facilities in Stockbridge, Snellville and Augusta, GA. I photographed everything from lobbies to waiting rooms, exam rooms, dental exam areas and the above Cyberknife in Augusta. I had to arrive pretty early in the morning to photograph areas where patients are usually treated. Shooting quickly was a must and I didn’t have time to tidy some of the spaces that I was photographing. As a result, the photos that I have included here (and in “Part II” of this post) are mostly of lobbies, hallways and waiting/reception areas. I’m not used to working so fast-paced, but it did help me get in and out of the properties quickly! One of the things that I usually enjoy about architectural photography is the opportunity to take my time and be meticulous.

This post includes photos from Stockbridge (just 2) and Augusta. In Part II I’ll post photos from the properties in Snellville.

I wish there had been more time to photograph this room – I would have tried to tidy up the the back corner (I already removed some clutter in Photoshop) – but I had several people waiting for me to get the shot and move one.
