Coke Museum at Christmas

Merry Christmas 2015!

December 25, 2015 HDR, Holidays, Travel 0 Comments

I took this photo in December 2013 as part of an assignment but I just realized that I haven’t ever shared it here, other than in my portfolio. This is the Coca-Cola Museum in downtown Atlanta with the Westin, 191 Peachtree Tower, the Georgia Pacific building, the American Cancer Society building and just the edge of Centennial Park visible in the photo. The Georgia Aquarium was directly behind me.

Merry Christmas to everybody out there from this unseasonable warm, drizzly Christmas Eve (technically Christmas Day) in Georgia!

Brooklyn Bridge Black & White Angle

New York in Black & White

November 23, 2015 Black & White, History, Travel 0 Comments

I took a semester of photography as an elective when I was in college, long before I began to consider trying to make money as a photographer. The class was taught using film SLRs with black & white film. I quickly learned that I loved shooting in black & white and that even more than shooting, I loved the traditional dark room.

Commercial Property Photography

November 2, 2015 HDR, Real Estate 0 Comments

Back in mid-September I drove about 1,400 miles through Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and back into Georgia to photograph 18 commercial properties for a client. In early October I flew up to New York to photograph two more. I enjoy going back and forth between residential and commercial property photography – I like the change of pace and getting to switch out one set of challenges for another.

Manhattan from the Ferry II

New York City!

October 19, 2015 History, Travel 0 Comments

Almost two weeks ago I flew up to New York to photograph a couple of commercial properties.  The next day, instead of taking the early flight home, I took the latest flight that I could and spent the day in the city.  It was my first time in New York (other than connecting through JFK once) and I was lucky enough to get a day of great weather.

Alive & Kicking!

October 5, 2015 HDR, Real Estate 0 Comments

Just a quick update to prove that I’m still alive and kicking.  I’ve been photographing some commercial properties recently (in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia) and I have two more to photograph this week (in New York and New Jersey). In the mean time, here are a few new photographs from a home in Smyrna, GA that I photographed in late August.

Remodeled Home in Sandy Springs, GA

July 24, 2015 HDR, Real Estate 0 Comments

Sandy Springs, GA Real Estate and Interior Photography – Yikes!  It’s been almost four weeks since my last post! But I’ve been busy shooting, so that’s my excuse =)  I photographed this home in Sandy Springs, GA just before the 4th of July and it was a fun property to shoot.  What makes a property “fun” to photograph, you ask?  Large spaces and simple staging.

First Cucumber Grown

Cucumbers & a Heat Wave…

It’s been pretty hot here in the Atlanta area for the past two weeks.  The day time highs have been getting up into the mid 90s and over night lows have been in the mid and upper 70s. Way too hot for me! I haven’t been doing outdoorsy stuff as much as usual – just walking to the mailbox can make you break into a sweat!

Beautiful Home Near Chastain Park

June 2, 2015 HDR, Real Estate 0 Comments

Things got a little busy and mid May turned into early June.  But here are the photos of the lovely home near Chastain Park that I was fortunate enough to photograph just over a month ago.  There were multiple offers on the house the day it was listed and it is now under contract.  Such a large house with so many open spaces made it hard to choose which angles to photograph; every time I turned around there was another good shot to be had.

Rose Leaves Backlit by the Setting Sun

Out & About in the Garden

Before I share the photographs from my most recent house shoot I wanted to post some of what I’ve been photographing in the garden. Starting about an hour to an hour and a half before sunset the low angle of the sun filtering through the various types and colors of leaves is hard to resist. I’ve been doing most of this work hand-held because it’s so much easier to move from plant to plant and not have to constantly re-adjust my tripod.

Potpourri of New Real Estate Photos

May 8, 2015 HDR, Real Estate 0 Comments

This is an selection of some of my favorite shots from a couple of houses (in the same neighborhood) that I photographed recently.  And last week I photographed my first $1,000,000+ (!!) listing and I’m looking forward to sharing some of my favorite images from that shoot.  It is a beautiful home and was a lot of fun to photograph.

Another Spring Photo Collage

I’ve been getting more practice with my 105mm macro lens and the more I use it the more I love it.  We’ve had a lot of gray, overcast days here in the Atlanta area recently.  That’s not so great for people who want to get outside and enjoy the spring temperatures, but it’s great for macro photography!

Residential Exterior Photography

Property in Sharpsburg, GA

April 7, 2015 HDR, Real Estate 0 Comments

Here are a few of my favorite shots from a home that I photographed in Sharpsburg, GA. The front exterior shot was a little bit difficult since I was shooting right into the sun for the straight-on shot. I found an angle that worked and even got a little bit of nice lens flare out of it.
