Coke Museum at Christmas

Merry Christmas 2015!

I took this photo in December 2013 as part of an assignment but I just realized that I haven’t ever shared it here, other than in my portfolio. This is the Coca-Cola Museum in downtown Atlanta with the Westin, 191 Peachtree Tower, the Georgia Pacific building, the American Cancer Society building and just the edge of Centennial Park visible in the photo. The Georgia Aquarium was directly behind me.

Merry Christmas to everybody out there from this unseasonable warm, drizzly Christmas Eve (technically Christmas Day) in Georgia!

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!  (this image is seven fireworks shots composited together from a fireworks display that I went to in 2012).

Merry Christmas 2013

Another Christmas is already here.  They really do seem to come around faster and faster every year.  I wish I could figure out a way to make things slow down.

I’ve had a few assignments in the past week to photograph some of the Christmassy-ness around where I live. I got a chance to get out and do a little bit of Blue Hour Christmas light photography. The Blue Hour was more like the Blue 25 Minutes. The first 15 minutes after sunset was still just a little bit too bright. The next 25 minutes or so were great, but I had to work quickly. After that I could still see a little bit of a blue glow to the sky, but it was too dark for me to get the shots that I wanted.

Snowy Night

Merry Christmas!

We don’t get much snow in Atlanta, so this is a picture from almost two years ago.  We got quite a bit (several inches and some ice, which brought Atlanta to a screeching halt) of snow in January 2011. I was actually off work for an entire week. It was lovely.

No sign of snow so far this year and the long-term forecast calls for a milder than normal winter, so I might not be seeing snow any time too soon. This snowy scene will just have to tide me over until the next snowfall.

4th of July Fireworks

Happy 4th of July!

It was a pretty hot 4th of July here in the Atlanta area! I completed my 14th Peachtree Road Race in the morning and then took the afternoon nap that makes the 6.2 miles worth it. I love that nap. I look forward to it every year. I checked out the fireworks in the evening and at the last minute decided to take my camera with me. I’m glad I did! I managed to get an okay spot and got some pretty clear fireworks pictures. It isn’t a huge fireworks display, but the advantage to that is that you don’t have to deal with too much smoke in your pictures, which is nice.
