Have a happy and safe Fourth of July! (this image is seven fireworks shots composited together from a fireworks display that I went to in 2012).
It’s been a little while since I posted anything. Graduation season has kept me busy but is mostly over now. I get to put the black pant suit away for little while! This May I drove almost 710 miles, spent 14 hours in the car, photographed 11 graduation ceremonies and almost 4,900 new graduates!
I’m looking forward to getting back to the slower pace of real estate photography over the next few weeks. I have an apartment complex to photograph this week and several commercial properties to shoot at the end of May and beginning of June. Mixed in there will be a lot of Lightroom organization time and and some studying for the Adobe Certified Expert Exam. I can’t wait!
(the photo above was taken at a nature preserve in Morrow, GA in early May)
I joined the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (now known as KelbyOne) back in February 2011. As part of my membership I get access to a members-only website where I can watch all kinds of Photoshop training videos, access great discounts, get Photoshop and photography help from other members and create a portfolio of my favorite images (as well as receive Photoshop User Magazine 10 times a year, which I love).
Every week they choose an Image of the Week along with four Editor’s Choice images. I found out on Friday morning that one of my images was chosen as an Editor’s Choice image! I haven’t ever had a photo chosen for anything before (I haven’t entered too many contests), so I was pretty excited. It’s a bit surreal to see one of your photos on a website that you admire being praised by such talented people. The shot that I took of the pegs and scroll of my viola can be seen in a previous post or in my portfolio.
